As many of you may know the East Midlands is very close to our heart, in fact it is our home. The Great British Cookbook offices are based in Nottingham and the majority of a staff base heralds from the area so we know the restaurants and chefs.

Deciding who would be in the book for this section was an exciting process, we chose places that represent this area and show off the creativity of the East Midlands and Nottingham especially. The Local Produce features in this section were especially exciting as they feature Nottinghams Famous Butcher Johnny Pusztai, a great friend of ours and an incredible character in the city. We also worked with his supplier, Richard from The Woodside Farm in Wellow, this is a stunning farm and we had a fantastic day watching the piglets run around squealing.

As mentioned we know many of the restaurants in this area so it was a really exciting process to pick them out for the book. Being from the midlands these restaurants are a really eclectic mix of flavours and dishes from not just around the UK but pulling influences from around the World.

If you are local to the area make sure you visit these incredible restaurants and enjoy a really unique dining experience.
