After a lot of hard work by all the chefs, restaurants and charities involved and all the staff here at The Great British Cookbook HQ it is safe to say that the launch couldn’t have gone any better.

The book, which features 200 chefs from 10 different regions of the UK, had a fantastic reception on the night and as expected, there was an array of fantastic food on display for all to try. Beautifully arranged canapés were created by World Service Nottingham and the Calcutta Club, a collection of stunningly mouth watering cakes made by The Cake Duchess and finally a delicious hog roast which was provided by Johnny Pusztai Nottinghams Famous Butcher. There was a countless number of big names at the event such as; Adam Simmonds, David Kelman, Craig Floate, Suree Coates and many more.

The Castle doors opened at 7 o’clock for the launch of the cookbook, followed swiftly by speeches from; Andy Whyles, the project director for the book, Claire Singlehurst, director of regional fundraising at MacMillan Cancer Support, Dan Routt, the charity ambassador for the Cookbook and none other than Nottingham’s most famous outlaw, Robin Hood. A video by Hospitality Action was then played out to the 200 strong crowd which informed the chefs and guests what money donated from the book would help fund.

The night then moved onto the merriment, where everybody had the chance to speak to all the other attendees. The atmosphere throughout the night was electric, which was summed up by the sea of smiles as you looked across the castle grounds. The night was then finalised with a fantastic fireworks display that lit up the skies above Nottingham Castle.
